Champ Car, a shortened form of "Championship Car," has been the name for a class of cars used in American Championship Car Racing for many decades. For much of their history Champ Cars have been similar to Formula One cars, although there have traditionally been several key differences between the two.

The Champ Car World Series has established a strong foot print around the world with successful races in a number of large markets and has millions of enthusiastic fans who enjoy high tech open wheel racing. The series races on street courses like Denver, Toronto and Long Beach and on permanent road courses like Portland, Montreal and Mexico City. In addition to the North American Champ Car events, the series also races in Korea and Australia with a new race scheduled in Bejing, China in 2006.
